Sports social media company Sportswik have announced an exciting new partnership with Croydon FC. The company’s move into the UK has been overseen by Snowmedia, a Sussex Innovation Croydon member.

The deal sees ”The Trams” – Croydon Football Club – become Sportwik’s Non-League ambassador club, and they will carry the Sportswik name on their shirt. The partnership follows a successful trial of the app during last season, and coincides with the launch of Sportswik in the UK.

So far, Sportswik has invested over £4 million in the developing the free-to-download app which, in just three years, has been adopted by 45% of grassroots football teams across Sweden. Next season it will be introduced across youth leagues, disability football and the non-league game – with the London FA also adopting it across its Cup competitions.

Sportswik CEO, Martin Wiklund said: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to partner with Croydon FC – and help the club re-establish itself and build a new generation of fans through the app. When it comes to sports social media Twitter and Facebook can’t rival Sportwik’s functionality.”
